Results of the day:

Juan Martin Diaz and Paquito Navarro (Hexagon Team) vs Agustin Tapia and Jon Sanz (R9L Padel Team): 6-4, 7-6 (9)

Juan Martin Diaz and Paquito Navarro signed a dream debut in the Hexagon Cup beating Agustin Tapia and Jon Sanz in a match of high intensity and that has wasted quality on all four sides. 6-4 and 7-6 in a match that never seemed to come to an end and that was decided in a very long tiebreak that ended up going Paquito and Juan's way by a tight 11-9. At the end of the match, Juan Martin was very moved by the affection he received from the fans and the level he showed on court. "There's no going back on my decision to retire", said Juan when asked about the possibility. In view of what he has seen, El Galleguito should never have to retire.

Paula Josemaria - Alejandra Alonso (ElevenEleven Team USA) vs Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (Team Bella Puerto Rico): 7-6, 6-1

World number one Paula Josemaria got her Hexagon adventure off to a great start with Alejandra Alonso beating Team Bella Puerto Rico's Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez 7-6, 6-1. Paula and Alejandra struggled mightily in a first set in which they took two set points to close out the set in a tiebreak. In the second set Alejandra got rid of the initial nerves and unleashed a gale and ended up closing the match by a clear 6-1. Ale is clear about it: "Today has been the best day of my life".

Juan Tello - Martin di Nenno (AD/vantage Padel Team) vs Lucho Capra and Fede Chingotto: 6-2 and 7-6 (6).

Cat Tello and 'turquito' di Nenno of the AD/vantage Padel Team are consolidated as one of the great candidates for the title in the men's category after beating Capra and Chingotto in two sets. Tello and di Nenno started like a motorbike and took the first set with two breaks. In the second set everything was equal and the claw of Chingotto and Capra prevailed at times. A super even set that ended up being decided by small details in the tiebreak. ElevenEleven's first victory will have to wait. The winning pairing will face Alex Ruiz and Franco Stupazcuk tomorrow to secure a place in the semifinals of the tournament. It will be a great match as they are Tello and Di Nenno's current partners on the regular circuit. They know each other well. We will enjoy the show.

Martita Ortega - Gemma Triay (Rafa Nadal Academy powered by Richard Mille) vs Sofia Araujo and Delfina Brea of the (AD/vantage Padel Team) 6-3,4-6 and 10-5.

In the first match on centre court at the Madrid Arena, the Rafa Nadal Academy pairing claimed their first win of the tournament and the second for their team. The pair, already consolidated in the regular circuit, were able to take advantage of the start of the super tiebreak.

Daniel Santigosa and Collado (Rafa Nadal Academy powered by Richard Mille) vs Alonso Rodriguez and Pablo Cardona (Hexagon Team): 6-2, 3-6, 10-2.

The first match in the history of the Hexagon Cup fell on the side of the Rafa Nadal Academy who in the first set managed to impose their rhythm against the punch of Cardona and Rodriguez. In the second set they managed to turn it around

Alex Chozas - Emilio Chamero (ElevenEleven Team USA) vs David Gala - Emilio Jensen of (RL9 Padel Team): 6-3, 1-6 and 10-3.
