Amateur padel takes a giant step forward. We teamed up with Playtomic to promote the International Amateur Padel League (LAPI) with the creation of the “Road to Hexagon”, a team experience that seeks to transform the amateur player's experience and bring them closer to the professional universe than ever before.
With Playtomic´s technological strength and our desire to bring innovation and value to the sport, we want to mark a before and after in the padel ecosystem by reinforcing the consolidated structure of LAPI. The initiative, pioneering in its approach, will offer the winners of this new league the chance to live a unique experience alongside the great stars of world padel into the next edition of the Hexagon Cup 2026.
The objective of this alliance is clear: to give a new value to amateur padel, turning thousands of players into protagonists of a bigger story. ´Road to Hexagon´ is a way to compete designed not only to play, but to feel the thrill of being part of a global event. It is also an international league and is scheduled to start in countries such as the UK and South Africa.
"Padel needs bridges between grassroots players and the elite, and this alliance makes it possible. We want amateur players to feel that they are part of something big. ´Road to Hexagon´ is their way to the top," said the project's promoters.
´Road to Hexagon´ will allow players to compete on equal terms and dream of a prize that goes far beyond a trophy: to be part of the backstage of the Hexagon Cup, live with the teams, train on the same courts and share moments with the best in the world. An immersive experience that breaks down the barriers between professional and amateur padel and reinforces the inclusive and global spirit of the sport.
In the coming weeks, we will provide more details about the tournament and the experience the winners will enjoy at our next edition. ´Road to Hexagon´ is already underway. Amateur padel enters a new dimension.
Astrid Thams, Hexagon´s Commercial Managing Director said: "Joining with Playtomic in this amateur padel competition will allow us to continue to grow globally. This agreement represents a further step in our commitment to the growth of padel. A new meaning to our claim For the Fans. For the Players. For the Game. We want fans not only to see the show, but to experience it from the inside, bringing them closer to the great stars of world padel and the owners of the teams. Road to Hexagon is born with that spirit: to make padel a more accessible, exciting and participative sport for everyone".
Pedro Clavería, founder of Playtomic, said: "This alliance reflects our commitment to making padel an increasingly fun and accessible experience. Connecting the amateur player with an elite competition like the Hexagon Cup not only inspires, but also reinforces our purpose: to make paddle tennis be experienced at all levels and all over the world. With projects like this, we continue to drive the global expansion of our sport and celebrate what unites us: the passion for playing padel".
Borja Alcalde, director of the LAPI League insisted: "For the LAPI League, the union of these three parties represents a key move for the three pillars we are pursuing on our path to the professionalisation of amateur padel: internationalisation, expansion and experience. The latter is what makes the LAPI League a unique project, taking padel much further than just sport".
